Vikings Too Much for Titans

(San Marino) – Shakour Sidney scored 34 points including seven three pointers to lead Blair to a 98-75 win over San Marino Friday night in Rio Hondo League action.

Sidney got the Vikings off to a fast start scoring 12 points in a huge first quarter in which Blair scored 32 points to take a 13-point advantage. Sidney hit a pair of three pointers and Timmy Anderson also knocked one down in the quarter and had six.

Sidney continued his hot shooting in the second quarter hitting two more threes and scoring eight points. Sidney was joined by Anderson who buried another three and had nine in the quarter. By the time the first half ended the Vikes were up 53-34.

San Marino tried to keep pace in an up tempo game but had trouble staying with the Vikings. Adrian Huang scored 11 of the Titans 15 points in the second quarter but Blair was still able to extend its lead.

San Marino outscored Blair by one in the third but wasn’t able to go on a run to get back in the game.

The Titans actually got within 13 points midway through the final frame but a quick surge by Blair sparked by another three and a bucket by Sidney increased the margin to 21. Anderson had a huge final quarter as well with 13 points.

Anderson finished with 28 which included four threes and two from behind the arc in the fourth quarter. Combined with Sidney’s 34, Anderson and Sidney had 62 of the team’s 98 points. Nazsir Cammon added 15 for the Vikings and Tarynce Price was also in double figures with 13.

After scoring 99 against Temple City Wednesday the Vikings have scored 197 points in their last two games.

For San Marino Huang led the team with 32 while Casey Chan scored 18 including nine in the fourth quarter. Robert Reyes added 12.

With the victory Blair improved to 16-10 overall and 6-2 in the Rio Hondo, just one game behind La Canada (7-1). San Marino dropped to 16-10 and 5-3.
