At least this way , there CAN be a good team in a lower division and you have some idea of who you have to beat to win Division prior to Announcement Sunday !
This also takes away the benefit of bad losses which used to be the bane of good coaches , but now is the secret to playoff success in football
The last two SGV coaches of the year both had multiple “ red print “ losses prior to running table in lower divisions than the teams that whipped them in regular season contest #loseandsurvive
Participation awards. None of these teams would even score a basket in a real playoff game.
Before the season starts you are placed in a division based on what you have done in the past couple of years. Unlike football where you are seeded based on power rankings. Baseball is the same as basketball. Everyone will have their own opinion.
Los Altos in division one? I guess CIF thinks that the spirit (and size) of the departed Gardner brothers will be with Lucas’s squad in these playoffs.
