@drink diarrhea
From the sounds of your post, it sure looks like you partake in the activity of your screen name. You say things will be rough “until they get things stable again.” What part of Bishop Amat HS football is unstable? Please enlighten me. Let’s look at their last 10 years and please tell me a local team that has had the same type of resume.
2022: 9-4 Division 2 Semi-Finals
2021: 8-4 Division 2 Quarter-Finals
2019: 9-2 Mission League Champs- Division 1 1st round loss to Mater Dei
2018- 8-3 Mission League Champs Division 1 1st round loss to Mission Viejo
2017 7-4 Division 1 loss 1st round to St. John Bosco
2016 7-4 Division 1 1st round loss to Vista Murrieta
2015 10-3 Mission League Champs Division 1 semi-final loss to St. John Bosco
2014 9-4 Mission League Champs Division 1 semi-final loss to Corona Centennial (by 1 point)
2013 6-4 Missed division 1 playoffs
2013 7-3-1 Division 1 1st round loss to LB Poly.
Not this year , probably or next either
41-13 Amat
Amat people will always hate Amat … truth is – nobody in SGV can touch them
Private school , public school , pre-school – you still need kids to come
Coaching is becoming a smaller part of the game when it comes to the big dawgs … recruiting is more priority
Might be time to just separate privates and public’s in CIF , but then you still have the problem with open enrollment
Looks like they will go their customary 5-5/6-4 and maybe win a playoff game depending on how low a division they get put in. Next couple years at Amat will be rough until they can get things stable again.
@10-0,
Then why was Amat so bad prior to Hagerty? And if he isn’t the standard who is? Bogan is great but probably past his prime days. George? Let him do it for a few more years than he could be up there with Hagerty. Maggiore? Not quite. So who else????
@FBFan; If you think he is the standard, then you don’t know what you are talking about. If he Hagerty sets the standard in the SGV then he is weak, why because he is in a private setting, and knowing that, he should be punching a ticket to the big show almost every year. Hagerty and the coaching staff at Amat are just lucky they are at the private level, those kids show up ready to play. Those kids deserve more and Hagerty ain’t getting them anything.
While MattV is no longer with the Lancers, I’ve heard that the school is going to honor this man’s immense contribution to their program by changing the institution’s name to Bishop Amatt.
The Moschetti hire and his ability to legally recruit means the St. Paul game might get very interesting soon
It’s way too early to expect Moschetti to pull an upset against Hagerty’s squad, but the enthusiasm will surely be there for the Amat game. Looking forward to it.
Where’s Waldo (Matt V)?
Valencia- W
St. Paul- W
Santa Margarita- L
Rancho Cucamonga- W
St. Mary’s- W
Alemany- W
Sierra Canyon- L (This is becoming quite a good rivalry)
Serra- L
Chaminade- L
Notre Dame- W
6-4, Make a run in Division 3. People will make it sound like Amat is a doing horrible but the truth is that they are the standard for the SGV and Hagerty does an unbelievably good job of competing with some big boys without having the big boy type talent. Prior to Hagerty’s arrival, Amat was in some trouble. Do they have people leaving because Matt V is gone? Sure. But Amat was just fine before Matt V got there and will be just fine after.
Tough schedule with St Paul being the obvious get well game early
