- Monrovia’s Jacob Hernandez ran the 100 meters in 10.85 this season and will attempt to break that time this weekend at the Arcadia Invitational.
- CBS play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz called his last Final Four game Monday night in the Championship game. He will continue to announce golf and NFL games.
- The Las Vegas Raiders signed quarterback Brian Hoyer to a two-year deal.
- Covina’s Anthony Cordova went 5 for 5 Tuesday in a 19-7 win over Santa Ana.
- Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay re-signed with the Philadelphia Eagles for three years, $42 million.
- The New York Knicks clinched a playoff berth with a 118-109 win over the Washington Wizards Sunday. It’s just the second time in the last 10 years that the Knicks have made the playoffs.
- On this day in 1984 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar broke Wilt Chamberlain’s all-time career scoring record of 31,419 points.
