  1. Don Lugo quarterback Kalib Pacheco completed 30 of 55 for 503 yards and four touchdowns and no interceptions Friday night in a 41-40 win over West Covina. He also ran for a touchdown. 
  2. South Pasadena running back Jason Hong ran for 347 yards and four touchdowns in a 34-27 overtime win over La Canada Friday night. 
  3. Ganesha head football coach Don Cayer had a medical emergency after Friday night’s game against La Puente and was hospitalized. Prayers from the Mid Valley staff. 
  4. Diamond Bar had wins over Esperanza, Chino, Paloma Valley and Baldwin Park all declared forfeit losses by CIF due to an illegal player. The Brahmas are now 2-7 overall but still 2-0 in the Hacienda League. 
  5. UCLA beat Stanford 42-7 Saturday night to improve to 5-2. 
  6. The Chargers lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 31-17 Sunday to fall to 2-4 on the season. 
  7. The Rams lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 24-17 Sunday to fall to 3-4 on the season. 
  8. The Texas Rangers beat the Houston Astros 9-2 Sunday to force a Game 7 Monday Night in the ALCS. 
  9. The Philadelphia Phillies lead the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-2 in the NLCS. Game 6 is Monday.
  10. AP College Football Top 5: 1. Georgia 2. Michigan 3. Ohio St. 4. Florida St. 5 Washington.

    Coaches know when they are using a iffy player. Any team that has to forfeit for using an ineligible player should be disqualified from playoffs even if it was a non-league games.
