Good Morning!
What are we three weeks from spring practice? We’ve made it through the offseason. New coaches, and plenty of rumors…Have you heard the latest about Randy Backus going to…Nah, that would be gossip.
If the Rio Hondo in baseball was supposed to belong to TC and M-Town, San Marino and La Canada didn’t get the memo. The Titans have won five in a row.
Best of intentions. I’ve always promised myself I would do more in regards to South El Monte softball, but multiple jobs, three kids, a wife, yada yada, has made it tough. I’m sure I’m not Lady Eagles coach Dean Bunting’s favorite guy.
But look at the numbers the SouthGirls are on top of the Mission Valley League again in softball with a bona-fide superstar in Anne Gaber, who is hitting .661 with seven homers and 22-Rbis…click on tomorrow and I’ll tell you how good a pitcher she is…
I feel a whole lot better knowing that when Barry Bonds was playing it was all about the image on the field and nothing to do with the real Barry. He’s really a heckuva a nice guy.
When I saw him last night during the Giants 5-4 win over the Dodgers I kept thinking of the old song; “Oh, oh, what a lonely boy!”
I know Scanlan will crack some WHIP comment and give a thousand reasons why I’m wrong but I’m sick of Dodger reliever Ronald Belisario. When this guy comes in I start having Elias Sosa flashbacks. Dump him.
Was that the Dodgers Cody Ross making the Willie Mays catch last night for the Florida Marlins? Seems like only yesterday he was getting hits and driving in runs before being told to get off the bus and find another team.
I like New Orleans’ Chris Paul as well as the next fellow but I’ll move over and let you talk to the next fellow. The Hornets 121-63 loss (that’s the real score) wasn’t just bad for Paul’s reputation, it should cost Coach Byron Scott is job.
Just like plenty of people will be unemployed, who are currently employed by the San Jose Sharks after they were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs by the Anaheim Ducks.
(And people think I don’t do hockey…)
The Lakers wrapped up business against the Jazz last night, but I’m still not a Kobe guy. There is nothing about his game that makes me go wow! My long term memory of Kobe will be of someone forcing a fallaway 17-footer with three defenders on him.
