(“The TEN” is not a top ten but ten items worth being included in “The TEN”)
- Scottie Scheffler won the Masters Tournament by four strokes Sunday. It’s the second Masters green jacket for Scheffler.
- Tiger Woods finished last among the 60 golfers who made the cut at the Masters with a 16-over 304, which is a career worst.
- South El Monte head softball coach Dean Bunting won his 400th career game last week. Bunting has guided South El Monte to 15 Mission Valley League titles in the last 19 years.
- Mater Dei fired head football coach Frank McManus after just one season.
- The Oklahoma City Thunder are the number one seed in the NBA Western Conference playoffs. The Boston Celtics are the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
- The Lakers are the number eight seed in the West and will play the seventh seed New Orleans Pelicans Tuesday night in New Orleans in a play-in game. The Clippers, the fourth seed, will face the number five seed Dallas Mavericks in the first round.
- The executor of O.J. Simpson’s estate said he will work to prevent a payout of the $33.5 million judgment awarded by a California civil jury nearly 30 years ago in a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the families of Simpson’s ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.
- Baseball: Burbank beat Hoover 30-0 Friday in Pacific League action.
- Baseball: El Monte is 0-14 overall this season and 0-8 in the Mission Valley League. Arroyo leads the MVL at 8-1. South El Monte is 7-1.
- Former Long Beach State head coach Don Monson, who was told he would be fired at the end of the season and then led The Beach to the NCAA Tournament, has been hired as the head basketball coach at Eastern Washington.
#7 With a statement like that I would think the Goldman’s would be able to find a judge to have that executor removed. A legal judgement has to have priority over all beneficiaries.
We need somebody to prevent a payout to Simpson’s estate handler.
