  1. A.J. Gracia has stepped down as the head football coach at Ayala after nine seasons. Gracia had an overall record of 59-35 and won five league titles. 
  2. Former Maranatha/ Sunny Hills head coach Pete Karavedas has been hired as the head football coach at Fullerton High School. 
  3. The Houston Astros signed Christian Walker to a three-year, $60 million deal. Walker hit 95 homeruns over the last three years with the Arizona Diamondbacks.  
  4. Cameron Dicker’s 57-yard free kick field goal Thursday night against the Denver Broncos was the first since 1976. 
  5. Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is not expected to play in the College Football playoff due to an injury to the elbow on his throwing arm. 
  6. The Boston Red Sox signed left-hander Patrick Sandoval to a two-year, $18.25 million deal. 
  7. College Football Playoff First Round: Indiana (11-1) at Notre Dame (11-1) Friday, 5:00 p.m. ABC/ ESPN. 
  8. St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado blocked a trade to the Houston Astros. 
  9. Terry Ford, former defensive coordinator Sierra Vista, has been hired as the new head football coach at Workman. 
  10. Bishop Amat All Mission League defensive back Christian “CJ” Alarcon has transferred to Charter Oak.

    That’s not much of a credential
    …..Workman not an easy proposition, but only can go up from last two years and questionable coaching regimes .
