Kick it!
Okay, I’ll take the slings and arrows for this….On Saturday, I didn’t see Chuck Hughes or Damar Hamlin die on the field, but by the reaction of C.J. Stroud and his teammates to Tank Dell’s injury, it was as if we had.
I know this will get twisted into me being callous, cynical, and a get-off-my-lawn type…but the reaction to Dell’s injury reminded me that there’s a chip missing in this generation.
Ultimately, it doesn’t translate well into football.

I had two issues with the Rams’ win in New York yesterday. You got to get to the quarterback, and they only got to Aaron Rodgers once.
Also, if I know from my seat in The RamCave when they’ll run an inside/slip screen to Puka Nacua…I can guarantee you the defenses in the NFL know it.
It’s more played than a Skip Bayless take.

Honestly, after the way he pitched in the post-season, I thought the Dodgers would have kept Walker Buehler.
I say this as a Mets fan…this is what makes the Dodgers front office great. You see the same thing with the Rams, the ability to move beyond emotion when building a team.
Keep an eye on Teoscar Hernandez…

The bashing of Indiana and SMU by the KBM (Kiss Butt Media) is such low-hanging fruit.
Those two games boiled down to a pair of quarterbacks who were not ready to play in South Bend and Happy Valley. Were the Irish and Nittany Lions better teams? Of course.
The quarterback play by the Hoosiers and Mustangs put too much pressure on their defenses, and eventually, they broke down. If those quarterbacks had been half of what they were during the regular season, the games would have been more competitive.
The whining on social media about these teams being in and Alabama being left out is more proof of the KBM being on the emotional payroll of the SEC.
Last Note to Crimson Tide Fans: Don’t get your butt kicked by a lousy Oklahoma team.
Note to Colin Cowherd: Say the name…say, Redskins.

Last Add Houston: At this stage of his career, seeing Robert Woods willing to return kick-offs tells you everything about his character.

I don’t care what anyone says…Olive Garden still doesn’t treat you like family.

If it can’t be the Rams….I have no problem with Detroit or Buffalo winning it all. And because I think the NFL needs an evil empire, I’d be down with KC winning it all again unless they played the Lions.

I was never a big Ricky Henderson fan, but there was no denying his greatness. Appearing in four different decades, his accomplishments were off the charts.
Think about this, besides 3,055-hits, 1,115-RBIs, 1,406 stolen bases, and 297 home runs…Henderson had a career OBP of .401.
Today, he’d be making Ohtani/Soto money…if he wasn’t, it would be because some analytic nerd had ordered him not to steal bases.
On the flipside, I saw the “I am the greatest” claim in front of Lou Brock…I remember the whiny holdouts with the powerhouse A’s teams…The account of him and Bobby Bonilla playing cards in the Mets locker room during a playoff game against the Braves.
As Frank Costanza would say, “This guy, he’s not my kind of guy.”
I held no anger towards him, but I doubt I’m the only one who had issues with him.
All that said, RIP.

Finally…As an ordained minister, if somebody can tell me where to make a donation, I’ll make it just so I don’t have to suffer from these painful “Jesus Gets Us” PSAs…
Those things are more played than an inside/slip screen to Puka Nacua.
The Dude abides…

Who is this guy? Just filling up some empty space on the MVS?
MVS: Just some stiff we picked up off the street.
They were supposed to beat the Reds in 90 as well. Huge favorites, they got swept . Baseball is a funny game !
Ricky Henderson had to be one of the first power-hitting leadoff hitters in Major League Baseball, and his home-run prowess had little, if any, effect on his ability to get on base. What a talent.
It is somewhat amazing that the Oakland A’s team which Henderson belonged to won only one World Series (in 1989). He was part of a club that included Mark McGuire, Jose Canseco, Dave Henderson, ex-Angel Carney Lansford, ex-Dodger Bob Welch, ex-Dodger Dave Stewart, and Dennis Eckersley.
Of course, it was the Dodgers who beat essentially the same A’s team, four games to one, in 1988. The Dodgers did it with some of the best pitching they’ve ever had, including a career season from Orel Hershiser, and Kirk Gibson’s walk-off pinch home run in Game 1 was also a big factor.
