  1. Former NFL quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who just finished coaching a high school team to a state championship, is coming out of retirement to sign with the Detroit Lions. 
  2. Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson passed Michael Vick for most rushing yards by a quarterback in the NFL in a win over the Houston Texans Wednesday. Jackson now has 6,110 career rushing yards. Jackson has played seven full seasons less than Vick. 
  3. NFL Christmas Day results: Baltimore 31 Houston 2; Kansas City 29 Pittsburgh 10. 
  4. Miami Hurricanes head basketball coach Jim Larranaga has stepped down after 14 seasons. 
  5. Toledo beat Pittsburgh 48-46 in a bowl record six overtimes Thursday in the GameAbove Sports Bowl.

  7. Former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson is finalizing a deal to become the head football coach at Delaware State. 
  8. The Dallas Cowboys have decided to shut down receiver CeeDee Lamb for the season with a sprained AC joint in his shoulder.  
  9. Miami Heat team president Pat Riley put out a statement Thursday saying that the team is not trading Jimmy Butler even though league sources said that Butler prefers a trade out of Miami by the February 6 deadline. 
  10. Arcadia beat Mayfair 77-74 Thursday at the Damien Classic. The Apaches improved to 7-4 on the season.
