(“The TEN” is not a top ten but ten items worth being included in “The TEN”) Super Bowl LIX edition

1. The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl LXI in New Orleans Sunday. 

2. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts waa named MVP as he completed 17 of 22 for 221 yards and 2 touchdowns and an interception. He also rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.

3. Kansas City turned the ball over three times as Patrick Mahomes threw two interceptions and also lost a fumble. 

4. Cooper DeJean turned one of Mahomes’ interceptions into a pick six for Philadelphia to make it 17-0 in the second quarter. 

5. Philadelphia’s Saquon Barkley had just 57 yards on 25 carries.  

6. Mahomes was sacked six times by the Eagles’ defense, with 2 1/2 sacks credited to Josh Sweat.

7. The Eagles stopped the Chiefs quest of a three-peat after winning the previous two Super Bowls. No them has ever won three consecutive Super Bowls.

8. The Super Bowl victory was the second in franchise history for the Eagles who also beat  the New England Patriots in 2018. They Eagles are 2-3 overall in Super Bowls. 

9. The Eagles led 24-0 at halftime and held the Chiefs to just 23 total yards in the first half.

10. The Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens are the early favorites to win the Super Bowl next year according to sportsbooks. The Eagles are third.

    De Jean was the MVP. He was all over the place. The defence gave Hurtz a short field many times and made KC desperate. Defense is the MVP’s in todays football but nobody is looking.

    The Raiders have much tougher division/ league than Arroyo. Arroyo will run table in league with clear improvement ; Raiders may get to 8-9

    That game made Rams look like #2 team in NFL.

    It’s fun to concentrate on the NFL teams which are currently on top, but for anyone who appreciates the nuts and bolts of things, I suggest watching how Pete Carroll proceeds to build a winner in Vegas. On the high school level, we’ve got real coaches coming back to Arroyo, and the revival there will be just like the one in Sin City.
