  1. The Philadelphia Eagles are releasing six-time Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay. The Eagles also signed running back Saquon Barkley to a two-year, $41.2 million extension.   
  2. The Cincinnati Bengals have placed the franchise tag on wide receiver Tee Higgins for the second straight year.
  3. Jimmy Johnson, who is an NFL Hall of Famer as a coach, has announced his retirement from Fox Sports after being part of its NFL coverage for nearly all of the network’s 31 years. 
  4. LeBron James reached 50,000 combined points for his career in the regular season and postseason Tuesday night in the Lakers win over the New Orleans Pelicans.      
  5. Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving suffered a torn ACL and is out for the season. 
  6. Duke freshman star Cooper Flagg scored 28 points in a 93-60 win over Wake Forest Monday night in what could be his final game at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
  7. Downey will host Sierra Canyon in Week 3 of the 2025 football season. 
  8. Mike Moustakas will sign a one-day contract with Kansas City and retire as a Royal after a 13-year career. Mountains won a World Series with the Royals in 2015.
  9. South Pasadena tight end James Dowd has committed to Northern Arizona.
  10. The New York Jets are releasing wide receiver Davante Adams.

    Congratulations to James Dowd. Good luck to him at NAU. He was a force in the Rio Hondo. Good DNA too.

    Sierra Canyon coming into Allen Layne stadium, huh? Still won’t draw the crowd of Warren-Downey, but then again, nothing does.
