  1. The Buffalo Bills signed cornerback Tre’Davious White to a one-year, $6.8 million deal. The Bills released White last year. 
  2. The Dodgers swept the Colorado Rockies in a three-game series to improve to 14-6 on the season. 
  3. The San Diego Padres have the best record in baseball at 15-4. 
  4. The Lakers and Clippers both open their first-round Western Conference Playoff series Saturday against the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Denver Nuggets respectively. The Lakers are at home and the Clippers are on the road. 
  5. Arcadia WR/DB Billy Carr has transferred to Baldwin Park Braves head coach Robert Maxie confirmed. 
  6. Numerous reports have former Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava signing with UCLA. Waiting for confirmation. 
  7. The Rockies hired former manager Clint Hurdle as their hitting coach. 
  8. The Kings will face the Edmonton Oilers in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.   
  9. On this day in 1958 the Dodgers won their first ever home game in Los Angeles with a 6-5 win over the San Francisco Giants before 78,652 fans at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. 
  10. Also on this day in in 1962 the Boston Celtics won their sixth NBA championship beating the Lakers in seven games.
