Dodgers Notes: 7/7/25

The thoughts of Those Deferred BenchWarmers betray them…following the Astros sweep of the Dodgers at The Ravine.

By Those Deferred BenchWarmers

Since we are technically closer to fans than actual media, we can and will refuse to write about Houston, so this is going to be short and sweet.

The Weekend in Review
Headline for the Weekend: Trashstros Sweep Dodgers

Results: The Trashtros did not need to cheat to win this series (at least that we know of) as they won 18-1, 6-4, and 5-1.

Pitching Analysis: The Dodgers gave up 29 runs. Only three real pitchers did not give up runs: Shohei Ohtani, who was electric, Alex Vesia, who pitched an inning and a third, and Jack Little, pitching in his second major league game.

Hitting Analysis: Dodger Catchers went 6 for 10, so that’s good. Mookie Betts went 4 for 12, showing strong signs of breaking out of his season-long slump.

Takeaway for the Weekend: No matter what happens, we will never forgive the Trashtros for 2017.

Next Series’ Preview

Matchups: The Dodgers travel to the land of Cheese to take on the Brewers.

Analysis: The Brewers are second in the NL Central and second in the NL Wild Card, and are formidable at home. They are a top 10 team in home wins and runs scored, but have less quality starts than the Dodgers’ rotation.

What to Look For: Betts and Freeman had solid weeks last week, so hopefully they can continue to hit heading into the All Star Break.

I totally agree with the Benchwarmers. The Houston Astros will forever be known as cheaters, as far as I’m concerned.
The Astros got caught tipping their batters off about the coming pitches, and MLB still allowed them to keep their World Series championship, which they had “won,” four games to three. The cheaters definitely prospered that time; it’s one of the most tainted titles in professional sports history.
