Good Morning!

In the; Beyond the Millions Department:

I’ve never liked Tony La Russa. I’m always leery of super geniuses…from Wild E. Coyote to current leaders. Did you know Jimmy Carter is considered, by some, the most intelligent President we ever had?

La Russa has always struck as someone who will always over analyze and get paralyzed, but after learning the St. Louis Cardinals manager spent Monday night in the hospital with Rick Ankiel… I’ve decided to back off. Pretty cool move, that goes way beyond the millions.

Is it time for me to bring back the title to horror movies in regards to Brett Favre? Titles like: “The Horror of Favre”, “The Satanic Rites of Favre”, “The Curse of Favre”, or “Brett Favre Has Risen From the Grave”.

For the Record: In just 39 at-bats Texas Rangers outfielder Andruw Jones has equaled his home run total from 2008…He’s got three…Last season with the Dodgers he had 14 Rbis, in 2009 he has 8… with L.A. he hit .158…in Texas he’s hitting .333 with 12 walks and only 10 K’s.

Scanlan likes Jeff Weaver…When Weaver goes five innings, strikes out six, and allows only one run I like him too…

New Detroit mayor Dave Bing was a great player, not just good, everyone should know more about…

I think Nick Lemas has had enough of Burbank this season…

Atlanta stood a better chance against Sherman’s Army than it does against Cleveland this season in the playoffs…

Yes Denver beat Dallas, 117-105, but I’m still not a big Carmelo Anthony fan…It’s the pieces around him I really like…I’m still hoping they can get Dan Issel and Calvin Natt back in time for the Western Conference Finals… Dallas is done.

Former Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Tony Dungy visits Michael Vick in federal prison…and I think of the old cliche being true: “He makes others around him bettter…”

Last night Andy “Did You Hear About This One” Villanueva and I got into an argument about the 1982 California Angels pitching staff. I’m willing to concede we were both right. He argued that Mike Witt was in the rotation, I argued he wasn’t. I knew Witt had been up with the team and did pitch that season.

Witt was in the rotation, went 8-6, along with Steve Renko, Geoff Zahn, Bruce Kison, Ken Forsch, and Tommy John. I was thinking in terms of the post season rotation…since it was another exceptional Gene Mauch debacle… Did you know Mauch was considered, by many, a super genius?
