(Los Alamitos) – The CIF Southern Section Releaguing Committee Appeals panel upheld the appeals of eight of thirteen 13 schools comprising four areas during their meeting at the CIF-SS offices today.

The results of the appeals from each area school in the order they were heard and the recommendations from the committee (if any) are as follows:

Committee Recommendation(s):

Glendora to the Sierra League in all sports.

South Hills to the San Antonio/Miramonte League in all sports.

Committee Recommendation(s):

Grace Brethren, Santa Clara and Calabasas to the Tri-County Athletic Association in all sports

Oaks Christian to the Marmonte League in all sports.

St. Bonaventure to the Tri-Counties Athletic Association all sports except football; To the Channel League in football.

“I am extremely pleased with the thorough and professional job of the committee today,” stated CIF-SS Commissioner of Athletics Dr. Jim Staunton. “We heard a lot of appeals today and I think the recommendations of the committee were done with great thought and detail for all areas concerned.”

The next step for schools not granted their appeal is to be heard at the CIF Southern Section Executive Committee Meeting on May 20th at the CIF-SS Offices. Final approval of all league configurations goes before the full council during its first meeting of the 2009-10 school year, October 22, 2009 at The Grand in Long Beach.
