- The Houston Texans beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 30-6 on Monday Night Football to advance to the second round of the NFL Playoffs.
- NFL Divisional Playoffs are set: AFC- Buffalo at Denver, Houston at New England; NFC- San Francisco at Seattle, Rams at Chicago.
- Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin stepped down Tuesday after 19 years.
- The Chargers fired offensive coordinator Greg Roman and offensive line coach Mike Devlin Tuesday.
- The Philadelphia Eagles removed Kevin Patullo as offensive coordinator but he may stay on the coaching staff in a different role.
- San Francisco tight end George Kittle tore his right Achilles in the win over Philadelphia Sunday and will undergo surgery.
- Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola is transferring to Oregon. Oregon’s current starting quarterback Dante Moore has not yet decided if he will stay in school or enter the NFL draft.
- The Arizona Diamondbacks acquired third baseman Nolan Arenado from the St. Louis Cardinals for right-handed pitching prospect Jack Martinez. The Cardinals also sent $31 million to Arizona to help cover the $42 million left on Arenado’s contract over the next two years.

- Former Muir/ USC star Calen Bullock had a pick six for Houston Monday night in what may be Aaron Rodgers’ last pass of his career.
