– Co-Main Event has been announced for “Ultimate Chaos” Bob Sapp, (10-3-1), will face Bobby Lashley, (2-0), and Pedro Rizzo (16-8) will face off against Gilbert Yvel (35-13-1). Also on the card Din Thomas, (24-8), and Chris Horodecki , (12-1).
-Boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. (53-5, Boxing) has agreed to fight UFC Middleweight Kingpin Anderson Silva, (24-4, MMA), in an MMA match. The UFC President Dana White said “I could do it, make it huge, make money, but I could have done a fight like this when we were bleeding money.” “The fight would make some money, but it hurts MMA in the long term. We don’t do that because we love the sport. That’s a PRIDE or K-1 matchup. It’s not what we do.”
After Jones found out that the UFC didn’t want part of the fight with him and Silva, he tried to make a fight with Strikeforce between him and Strikeforce stand out Nick Diaz, (19-7). But Strikeforce Senior Vice President Ken Hershman called a Strikeforce bout between the boxer and Nick Diaz a “very long shot.”
-Shayna Baszler, (9-5), will face the winner of Strikeforce’s May 15th bout between Sarah Kaufman, (8-0), and Miesha Tate (6-1).
-A bout between Gabriel Gonzaga, (10-4), and UFC newcomer Chris Tuchscherer, (17-1), is likely for UFC 102. Also on the card will be Kyle Kingsbury, (7-2 MMA) vs. Razak Al-Hassan, (6-1 MMA), in a light heavyweight bout.
-Doug Marshall (9-3) will meet Jaime Jara (21-6) at PFC 13, May 8th. A move to
Japanese-based Sengoku could be next for Marshall with a good showing.
-Estevan Payan, (7-1), and Hector Munoz, (7-3), both failed to make weight for Bellator Fighting Championships week six show.
-Former UFC Heavyweight Kevin Randleman (17-12) will face IFL veteran Mike Whitehead at Strikeforce’s June 6th show.
