Joe T., always working hard…

By Joe Torosian

Kick it!

The state of Mississippi is considering a bill to make NIL money tax-free…I love the chaos. Now, if D.C. could figure out a way to make our paychecks tax-free, then you’d have something.

Quick answer to a question. I was asked if I saw the blood moon the other night…No, I didn’t. Blood moons never fulfill the apocalyptic promises made about them. They always leave me disappointed.

The following statement will be repeated 162 times this season…
#1—May the San Francisco Giants rot and lie stinking in the earth.

FanView/Cactus League went to Municipal Stadium in Scottsdale on Tuesday. Team USA was facing the Giants.

Bryce Harper, Aaron Judge, Kyle Schwarber, and all the other MLB standouts on the roster…in the lineup, at the same time, exactly what you don’t see in a typical Spring Training game…

The group I’m with decided to splurge. We each paid $125 to sit in the shaded right field dining area. All food, drinks, desserts, and amenities are covered…along with programs, complimentary sunglasses, and sunscreen.

And it came with a table…Too good to be true…and it was…The first inning’s not even over, and management comes and says they oversold.

Say what?

“This table belongs to season seat holders.”

They move us…to a section with no view of the field—“temporarily.”

We complain because we can’t see the field. They offer us a “fix” that is closer to the field, but the view of the infield is obstructed.

And there’s no talk of money…no refunds…So we ended up at the bar and watched the entire thing on TV…

Management’s final words to us were, “Don’t worry, guys, we’ll take care of you.”  Then we were forgotten faster than a friend calling when broke down somewhere in the middle of the night.

So I’ve come to this conclusion…My hatred of the Giants now exceeds my loathing of the Dodgers.
#2—May the San Francisco Giants rot and lie stinking in the earth.

Last Add Baseball: Speaking of things that cost $125, as I checked out the merch on the memorabilia table…They had some amazing stuff…but there was also a signed ball by Greg Swindell…for a 125-bucks

I know Scottsdale is the Austin of Arizona…and it’s located in Maricopa County, for goodness sakes…so the value of $125 isn’t what the rest of America, likely, thinks it should be.

Speaking of madness…the idea of a WNBA work stoppage thrills me. What seems to have been forgotten is that, back in 2024, the players opted out of their CBA.

Note that: In a league that makes no money, the players opted out of their CBA.

I’ve been involved with several online start-ups… and I’ve never made any money until the website started making money. Weird concept, huh?

The likely thinking was that they’d be bailed out with USAID money…That was on October 31st… and less than a week later, an election happened…

But I jest.

Kyler Murray, with his buyout money from the Arizona Cardinals, can purchase the WNBA.

Chicago Bears center Drew Dalman, a huge free agent signing & hit for the Bears last season, intends to retire.

Dalman, 27, is stepping away after five seasons in the league. The Atlanta Falcons drafted him 4/114/2021 out of Stanford. He had signed a 3-year/42-Rock contract.

With the Bears committed to finding defensive help, they now need to find a new anchor for the offensive line. I’m thrilled because it sets them back.

Dalman made 14-Rocks last year; free-agent Baltimore Ravens center Tyler Linderbaum is expected to set the market this year with a projected value of 4 years for 80-Rocks.

Arizona State upset Kansas last night, 70-60, in Tempe…Jayhawks guard Darryn Peterson played, and he played 34 minutes…but shot just 3-of-18…Fright night!

The Dude abides…
