(Rosemead) – Dwayne Wright, who played running back at Fresno State and was drafted by the Buffalo Bills, has been named the new head football coach at Rosemead the school confirmed Wednesday. Wright was the head coach at Gabrielino in 2023.
Wright was at Gabrielino for just one season and the Eagles went 0-10.
Wright was drafted by Buffalo in 2007 and also had stops with the New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL as well as the CFL Toronto Argonauts.
He had coached for 13 years spending time at West Hills College and Fresno City College before taking over as head coach at Gabrielino in 2023.
Wright takes over at Rosemead for Arlin Slayton who stepped down in December after four years at the helm. The Panthers went 5-5 (3-3, 4th in the Mission Valley League) last season and missed the playoffs.
