Joe T., always working hard…

Kick it!
I’m not “sus” on being suspicious about the Baltimore Ravens backing of the Maxx Crosby trade with the Las Vegas Raiders.
I’m very suspicious. This thing stinks worse than New Orleans at low tide.
The kid in the analytics department, who’s probably been ignored the entire offseason, finally got data into the hands of ownership.
“Sir,” the kid says, “I fed this into Grok, and this is what came out…”
Grok: The idea of letting Tyler Linderbaum leave via free agency while in the process of renegotiating a contract extension for a running quarterback, whose best years running are behind him…is compounded by trading two first-round draft picks for a $30-million a year player….This is STUPID.
And that’s why I’m all in on a conspiracy on the Ravens part to get out of this deal.
The fallout of what this does to the Raiders is huge. They began operations on Monday with the agreement in place and went after free agents accordingly.
Of course, the NFL won’t do anything because, for decades now, it’s been all about getting the franchise out of the Davis family’s hands.
Former Florida State & NFL quarterback Danny Kannell came out a few days ago on X/Twitter and said; No youth sports games should start before 9:AM…and they shouldn’t be played on Sunday.
Of course, Barstool Sports—an absolute abomination and legitimate sign that the apocalypse is upon us—came out against it.
You want a better person, a better player for your team, your college team, signing with your favorite professional team…give them one day with their family without sports.
In close to 30 years covering sports, I’ve seen the growth of youth sports on Sunday. You know what else I’ve seen? Our youth culture’s continual decay. (See me in my day job—this is my business)
Last Add Barstool Sports: I’ve caught their FS1 show… and I’m stunned that a show and its hosts can be so bad at what they do… and yet make so much money. It bugged me for a while, and then I remembered, oh yeah, the NBA.
Speaking of Bam Adebayo… I didn’t see a minute of the Miami Heat’s 150-129 victory over the Washington Bullets (Yeah, I’m not going to say Wizards anymore). But if the dude scores 83 points against the NBA version of the Washington Generals, you’ve got to give it up for him.
And from what I’m hearing, that’s what happened.
First Add Rams: As much as I think the Raiders are getting hosed by the Ravens—and likely the NFL—there may be an opportunity for the Rams to add Maxx Crosby for a significantly reduced rate.
Team USA Manager Mark De Rosa once used the phrase, “Everything in moderation except bullets to the gap.”
There haven’t been too many bullets to the gap with Team USA…and, after a loss to Italy, they need help to advance in the tournament.
Bryce Harper came up with two on and two out with a chance to tie the game in the bottom of the eighth…and, as always, when it counts most, Harper flied out meekly to left.
The Dude abides…
