Note to Geraldo Perdomo: You don’t get off the island by walking. Even if the pitch looked a little low, with two strikes and the tying run on third in a WBC elimination game, you’ve got to swing. 

Does the NCAA Women’s tourney really need 68 teams? I’ll be generous, they can have 32, but 68?

What makes it even worse is listening to broadcasters talk and act as if they care.

NIL has killed the era of the Mid Major—anything to save the blue bloods, like the shot clock—but, even as a Wesleyan, my heart is with Cal Baptist in the NCAA tourney.

Last Note Cal Baptist: Eleven years ago today, in 2015, Cal Baptist played APU in the NCAA Division II West Region final. The Cougars beat the Lancers, 91-79, at the Felix Event Center.

In a classic example of, if you’re not growing, you’re dying…Cal Baptist makes its first-ever NCAA tourney appearance this week.

And APU sinks into the abyss of Division III.

Leadership is everything.

The play that Austin Reaves made to tie Denver at the end of regulation on Saturday was great, but it was also another indictment against the NBA.

While the athleticism is great, the level of play is terrible, and Reaves’ success also highlights how poor the scouting system is.

The only way Reaves goes undrafted is if you’re looking for an athlete and not a basketball player. And there is a difference between athletes and basketball players.

(I know Reaves was receiving and declining late second round interest in 2021…but when you look at that draft class–how was he not taken in the first round?)

Magic and Bird weren’t renowned for their speed or hops… they were basketball players… and they were the ones who saved the NBA.

The Bolts re-signed Trey Lance…and Josh Johnson inked with the Bengals…The team he was with in 2013 and 2015…Since entering the league as a 5th round pick of the Buccaneers, Johnson has appeared in just 50 games, started only 11, but has career earnings of 10.3-Rocks and a pension waiting for him when he’s done.

Who do I worry about as a Rams fan in 2026? Everybody, but Carolina, makes me a little bit uncomfortable.

Seahawks? 49ers? Honestly? Scoop of vanilla, scoop of chocolate, don’t waste my time.

Disappointed Cleveland State didn’t get a bid…I also think UNC-Charlotte and LMU got hosed…No Mouse? No Cornbread? No System? But it’s all cool, I’ve got 68 women’s teams to watch.

Last Add Lakers: Marcus Smart’s defense is as refreshing to the eyes as a Junior Mint is to the palate…

Someone asked me if I liked the Oscars…I said, sure, but then again, I also like cold toilet seats.

I don’t believe any of the Davante Adams trade rumors involving A.J. Brown…The Dude abides…
