Fanview Lite: May 12, 2009

By Joe Torosian

Good Morning!

Today would be a great day, after reading this, to enjoy Fanview in high definition by clicking on www.midvalleynewsonline.com

It may have been done before but last night watching Denver and Dallas go at it I was thinking if you cross Larry Bird with Lurch, you get a Dirk Nowitzki…

And if you cross something bad, with something stupid, you get obnoxious…Aka: Mark Cuban…

The Illustrated Cavalier Delonte West strikes me as unhappy. If you think I’m being judgmental that’s okay because I am.

Remember, way back, when someone had a tattoo they were very rich, owned an island full of fantasy, and liked having a little dude walking around? Or, they were tough guys in a biker gang or Marines.

You were always leery of those guys…they could go off any second. People that are tatted now like to consider it body art…they are making statements to the world with the ink encryptions on their skin…sorry artists don’t intimidate me the way bikers and Marines do.

Mr. West strikes me, like many others, as a poser…put that in your pipe and smoke it…

The Nationals Ryan Zimmerman hit in his 29th straight last night… The South El Monte Lady Eagles hope to extend their Mission Valley League winning streak to 29 against Arroyo on Wednesday…

Manny Ramirez did what he did, what is all of this business about him apologizing? What, are we all clients of Stuart Smalley?

If he wants to do some PSA’s for kids…beautiful…but if he wants to make it up to his teammates all he needs to do is comeback in shape and swing the bat as if he was Roy Hobbs…(Hobbs batted right in the book)…

Are Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier, James Loney, Russ Martin and crew really holding out for an apology? Do they really feel they need one?

Loney is looking so pathetic at the plate these days a lazy fly to left looks fantastic compared to his soft pops to third…Maybe Loney needs the testosterone and something more than a pink bat.

Oops, sorry, that’s not PC… but I’m gonna say it from the helmets, to the hats, to the bats and wristbands, the pink stuff is overdone. In an effort to raise awareness, they trivialize…

They should just go back to a ribbon, because honestly…Who! Who will refuse to wear the ribbon!
