1. La Serna quarterback Grady Long threw for more than 300 yards passing and receiver Landon Armenta had over 220 yards receiving in the Lancers 30-24 loss to Corona del Mar Thursday night.

2. The Chargers are signing receiver Marques Valdez-Scantling to their practice squad.

3. El Rancho quarterback Adrian Lopez was Art’s Barbershop Player of the Week for Week 3.

4. San Francisco 49ers tight end Jake Tonges will need surgery on his MCL and will be out for the season.

5. The Buffalo Bills beat the Detroit Lions 41-31 on Thursday Night Football.

6. LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt has been upgraded from doubtful to questionable for Saturday’s game against Ole Miss.

7. Michael Sweetney, who played for the New York Knicks and the Chicago Bulls in a four-year NBA career, passed away at the age of 43 Wednesday. Sweetney had a standout college career at Georgetown. No cause of death was given.

8. The New Orleans Pelicans signed forward Saddiq Bey to a three-year, $55 million extension.

9. Rams head coach Sean McVay said the team is “hopeful” that Aaron Donald will play on Monday Night Football against the New York Giants.

10. Pitt improved to 3-0 with a 27-13 win over Syracuse Thursday night.
