Cougars Use Bullpen by Committee in Victory
By Tim Peterson (Glendora) – Azusa Pacific used eight pitchers, survived three bases loaded jams and 13 hits, and pounded out 11 hits of its own. When the dust finally settled the Cougars emerged with a 4-1 victory over Cal Poly Pomona Tuesday night on their home field.
Azusa Pacific Eliminated by UC San Diego
By Tim Peterson (Mazmanian Field- Mt. San Antonio College) – UC San Diego beat Azusa Pacific 5-3 Monday at Mazmanian Field to knock the Cougars out of the NCAA Division 2 Regional West Playoffs.
Broncos Cool off Cougars
By Tim Peterson (Mazmanian Field- Mt. San Antonio College) – Michel Koval pitched seven and two-thirds innings, allowed just one earned run and scattered eight hits as Cal Poly Pomona slowed down Azusa Pacific 6-2 Saturday night at Mazmanian Field in the NCAA Division II West Regional Playoffs.
