Damien Successful in Sierra Opener

By Corey Kwok  (West Covina) – Damien held hit parades in both the first and sixth innings to open up a 7-0 lead after six innings before turning away a late South Hills’ rally in the seventh to capture the Sierra league opener 7-4 Thursday over the host Huskies (4-2, 0-1).

Huskies Fall in Don Lugo Final

By Corey Kwok (Covina) – Chino Hills used a two out, three run shot from Ricky Mount in the third and a complete game effort by pitcher Kevin Sprague to post a 5-1 win over South Hills in the Don Lugo Tournament title game Friday. Both teams came in undefeated.
