- The Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Detroit Pistons 125-94 Sunday in Game Seven to win the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals.
- NBA Playoffs: Conference Finals – West: Oklahoma City Thunder vs. San Antonio Spurs; East: New York Knicks vs. Cleveland Cavaliers.
- The Dodgers beat the Angels 10-1 Sunday to sweep the three-game series. The Dodgers (29-18) are in first place in the NL West by 1/2 game over the San Diego Padres. The Angels dropped to 16-31 and have the worst record in baseball.
- Oklahoma City guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was named the NBA MVP for the second straight year.
- Former NFL defensive lineman Josh Mauro died from an accidental overdose on April 23 according to online records from the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner. He died from an acute combination of fentanyl, cocaine and ethanol intoxication.
- Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is set to sign a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers worth up to $25 million.
- The Philadelphia Phillies have gone 14-4 under interim manager Don Mattingly and went over the .500 mark (at 24-23) for the first time since April 7.
- Dodgers’ pitcher Blake Snell has loose bodies in his left elbow and will be out indefinitely. The Dodgers are determining whether surgery is necessary but he is likely to miss significant time either way.
- Charles Woodson Jr. committed to Michigan, where his father, Charles Woodson, won the Heisman Trophy in 1997. Woodson Jr. is a four-star defensive back from Orlando, Florida.
- Aaron Rai, who was at 290-1 odds to win the Tournament, won the PGA Championship Sunday for his first career major. At those odds, according to ESPN Research, Rai is the biggest long shot to win a major in at least the past 20 years.
