(Whittier) – Angel Diaz scored on a five-yard run with 7:26 left in the game to lift El Rancho to a 21-14 win over California Thursday night at Cal High.

(El Monte) – The El Monte Lions had a choice to make on Thursday evening; win the game and earn a trip to the playoffs or lose and end up relying on the results of a coin flip to break a potential three-way tie. The Lions chose option #1, defeating the visiting Rosemead Panthers, 28-21, in front of a very vocal, sometimes rowdy, crowd in the friendly confines of Lions’ Stadium.

(Alhambra) – For the third time this season, the Alhambra Moors endured a horrendous first quarter, falling behind the visiting Montebello Oilers, 26-0, in their Almont League game last Friday night. But the Moors turned the tables against the Oilers, scoring 36 unanswered points to take a 10-point lead and then holding on for a 36-33 victory on Senior Night.
