Bishop Amat Razes Diamond Ranch, 41-13

By Corey Kwok (Pomona) – Bishop Amat’s Darien Johnson returned a punt 56 yards to the house for a 7-0 Bishop Amat lead just 83 seconds into the contest and the Lancers went on to a 41-13 win over Diamond Ranch Saturday night at Ganesha High.

1. Monrovia (5-0) – No problem with bye; Cats get undefeated San Marino this week.       2. San Dimas (4-1) – Saints take home the Smudgepot again.          3. Paraclete (3-3) – Spirits Golden against Golden Valley.   4. San Marino (5-0) – Stevie Yortsos did everything except sing the Anthem.         

South Hills Repels Rosemead Challenge

By Corey Kwok and Jimmy Williamson (Covina District Field) – Jacob Shirley threw for 181 yards and two touchdowns to lead South Hills to a 30-9 win over Rosemead Friday night in the final non league game for both teams.  

Titans Finish off Mats

(San Marino) – Morgan Myers bolted into the end zone from two yards out with 1:10 remaining in the contest to give San Marino a 14-13 win over San Gabriel Friday night. The touchdown capped a seven play, 53 yard drive and spoiled the Matadors first game on their brand new Stadium turf.  

Schurr Smacks Cards 24-7

(Whittier) – Schurr’s defense figured out the Whittier ground game after the first quarter and eventually chewed up some rushing yards of its own in a 24-7 thumping of the Cardinals Thursday night at California High.

He’s Having a Ball

  Just when you think you get a break from him for awhile, he pops up again. He’s already run circles around you from the quarterback position and burned you with several crisp passes. Numerous times you thought you had him tackled only to see him break away and make a big play.
