Chargers Hold off Raiders in Opener

By Tim Peterson (Inglewood)- The Chargers jumped out to a 17-3 halftime lead and then held on to beat the Raiders 24-19 Sunday in the 2022 NFL opener before 70, 240 at SoFi Stadium.

Smudge Pot Remains with Bonita

By Tim Peterson (Glendora) -Connor Spina scored three times and the defense shut out San Dimas in the second half as Bonita beat San Dimas 21-13 Saturday night before a large crowd at Citrus College. With the victory Bonita retains the Smudge Pot for at least one more year.

Late Charter Oak Rally Sinks Chino Hills

By Tim Peterson (Covina) – Solomon Davis hauled in a 31-yard touchdown strike from Richie Munoz with 3:12 left in the fourth quarter to lift Charter Oak to a 16-15 win over Chino Hills Friday Night at Lou Farrar Stadium.

Trojans Feast on Rice in Opener, 66-14

By Tim Peterson (Los Angeles)- USC set a Pac 12 record with three interceptions for touchdowns and the offense racked up 538 total yards in a 66-14 rout of Rice Saturday before 60, 113 at the LA Memorial Coliseum. The game marked the USC debut of new head coach Lincoln Riley.
