– Middleweight Vitor Belfort was unwilling to fight at a catch weight of 195 at Affliction “Trilogy” against Gegard Mousasi. So Mousasi will instead face Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion Renato “Babalu” Sobral at the event.
– Veteran heavyweight Mike Russow has signed a multi-fight contract with the UFC and is looking to make his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 19.
– Satoshi Ishii, a Japanese gold medalist at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Judo, has signed with the Japanese based World Victory Road to fight in its Sengoku events.
– Fredson Paixao will face Cole Province at WEC 42 in a featherweight contest.
– Bantamweight standouts Joseph Benavidez and Dominick Cruz will meet at WEC 42.
– Frank Triggs first fight back in the UFC could be against welterweight standout Josh Koscheck at UFC 103.
