When the curtain fell on the 2008 football season the Saints finished with a 10-2 record. They rung up 552 points, averaged 46 points per game, scored 79 touchdowns and now in a few short days 61 one of those touchdowns will graduate out the door with Daniel Joseph, Erek Brown, Nico Barbone, and Mick Kalmar.

San Dimas coach Bill Zernickow of course is in a panic, developing an ulcer, losing sleep at night…no.

“We’re going to be okay,” he said with a smile.

Besides the above, a school enrollment of only 1,200, and six of his best still playing baseball Zernickow is relaxed and looking forward to the season.

“We’ve made some changes, we’re going to have a new look on defense, we’re alright.”

The new look will start with, Temple City alum and very well respected, Brian Mustain recently the HC at Beckman coordinating the defense

“Brian is really good at what he does.”

dsc_0048Zernickow mentioned two players to keep an eye on. One is middle linebacker Ryan Kohler, who is looking great and is in tremendous shape.

The other is Theo Darlington a running back who is very raw but has enormous potential…

What’s the guarantee next season? Zernickow will be in the crow’s nest running the offense, preaching the ills of turning the ball over, and very relaxed because he knows everything is going to be okay.
