- Former Lakers/NBA point guard Darius Morris passed away at the age of 33 his family announced Saturday.
- The Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Orlando Magic 106-94 Sunday to win the First Round Eastern Conference Playoff series in seven games.
- Mystik Dan won the 150th Kentucky Derby by a nose over Sierra Leone in a photo finish Saturday at Churchill Downs.
- Michael Irvin has been let go by the NFL network after 20 plus years with the company.
- As expected, Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball has picked up the $21.4 million option on his contract for 2024-’25. Ball has missed the last two seasons with a knee injury. He signed a four-year, $80 million free agent deal in 2021.
- Running back Duke Johnson, who played eight seasons in the NFL, announced his retirement from the league. He last played for the Buffalo Bills in 2022.
- The Dodgers completed a sweep of the Atlanta Braves with a 5-1 win Sunday at Dodger Stadium. They have won 11 of their last 13 and improved to 23-13 on the season. They are in first place in the NL West, 5.5 games ahead of the second place San Diego Padres.
- Former Chicago Bears quarterback Bob Avellini, who played nine seasons in the NFL, passed away at the age of 70 the team announced Saturday.
