Los Angeles Dodgers (37-19):

 

AW, MAN!!: The Dodgers were shut out for the second time, and both shutouts have come in the last six games…Los Angeles has been held to two runs or less in six of its last eight games, but is still 4-4 in that time.

 

OOPS!!: Cole Hamels became the first pitcher to shut out the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium since August 5, 2007, when Arizona’s Brandon Webb tossed a seven-hitter in a 3-0 win.

 

YEAH, MATT!!: Matt Kemp has hit safely in nine straight games, batting .433 (13-for-30)…he has also hit safely in 15 of his last 16 games, batting .397 (23-for-58).

 

A GREAT EIGHT: Andre Ethier has hit safely in eight straight starts, batting .333 (10-for-30).

 

  Philadelphia Phillies (32-20):

 

WHAT A RUN!!: The Phillies extended their winning streak to seven games, their longest since a seven-game run September 11-18, 2008…Philadelphia also extended its road winning streak to five games, and is a major league-best 20-6 on the road…Philadelphia is 16-4 in their last 20 games overall.

 

SHUTTING THE DOOR: The Phillies posted their first shutout since September 5, 2008 at the New York Mets…Philadelphia was one of only four teams that hadn’t pitched a shutout before tonight…Boston, Florida, and Washington now remain…the Phillies had 11 shutouts in 2008.

 

COLE VAULTS: Cole Hamels earned his third career shutout, his first since June 5, 2008 vs. Cincinnati …it is Philadelphia ’s first complete-game shutout since Brett Myers on August 20, 2008 vs. Washington .

 

WHAT A HAM: Cole Hamels is unbeaten in his last seven starts, going 4-0 with a 2.84 ERA (14 ER/44.1 IP) in that span…he has worked at least 6.0 innings in each of his last six starts.

 

ROAD RIBBIES: Raul Ibanez has recorded at least one RBI in nine of his last 10 road games (15 total) and in 13 of his last 15 contests away from Citizens Bank Park (25 total)…he leads the National League with 30 road RBI…only Evan Longoria has more road RBI (34) in the Majors.

 

NO TOAD ON THE ROAD: Raul Ibanez has hit safely in nine straight road games, batting .366 (15-for-41).

 

HOWARD ABOUT THAT?: Ryan Howard has at least one RBI in six straight games (12 total).
