(Azusa) – Mt. View scrambled back in the second half to tie it in regulation but fell a buck short in overtime and lost to Chino 47-46 Thursday at the Azusa Tournament.

Chino’s Jon Milian hit a driving layup from the right side of the key with 10 seconds left in the overtime session to win it. The Vikings had one last possession but were unable to get off a shot turning the ball over.

Jeremy Acosta led Mt. View with 13 points doing most of the work down in the paint. Acosta and Erick Martinez (12 points) had 15 of the Vikings 19 first half points. Chino took a 26-19 advantage at the half thanks to 10 first half points by post player Jesse Garibay.

View went on a 7-0 run to open the third as Angel Aguilar tossed in five consecutive points. Chino maintained a one point lead at 31-30 heading into the fourth.

The Vikes led 37-34 late in the fourth but Milian knocked down a three to get the Cowboys even and it was still deadlocked at 40 at the end of regulation.

In the OT, baskets by Samuel Holmes and Jon Garnica gave Chino an early 44-40 lead before the Vikings rallied on baskets by Joseph Angelo and Erick Martinez and a pair of free throws by Angelo for a two point lead. Milian hit a free throw to cut it to one and after View failed to score his runner with 10 ticks left proved to be the game winner.

Holmes led Chino with 14 and Garibay added 13. Milian finished with 12.
