By George Hernandez (El Monte) – The two and a half hour drive to El Monte didn’t slow down Devonte Jackson who had 19 points to lead Tahquitz to a 48-42 win over Mountain View Wednesday night in the first round of the CIF Division 4AA Playoffs.

Panthers’ Win Streak hits Five

(Rosemead) – Rosemead sank 11 free throws in the fourth quarter to secure a 49-37 win over Mountain View Friday night in Mission Valley League action. The win was the fifth straight for the Panthers and left them in first place in the MVL.
