On Tuesday evening in Phoenix, AZ, the Bonita Bearcats thrust themselves into the National picture with a authoritative upset of defending Division I State Champs Oak Ridge, 59-37.With the one, the Bearcats are one step closer from winning its second consecutive tournament of the year and being crowned Nike Tournament of Champions victor.
The trio of freshman phenom Nikki Wheatley and senior standouts Madison Zylstra and Taylor Anderson anchored the offense with a combined 50 points.
Wheatley led Bonita with 21 points, while Zylstra poured in 17 and Anderson finished with 12.
The Bearcats will now face Apollo (Glendale, AZ) in the semi-finals.
