CV Takes TC in Tournament

(Temple City) – Crescenta Valley had four players in double figures and rolled to a 66-48 win over Temple City Wednesday at the La Salle/Temple City Holiday Classic.

The Rams hung around early and only trailed 33-25 at the half but CV extended the lead to 13 by the end of the third and pulled away in the fourth.

Caleb Halversen knocked down three treys in the first quarter to keep Temple City close as the Rams trailed only 17-14 after one.

Christian Misi went to work for the Falcons in the second scoring nine points and Nick Kelly hit a three as the Falcons moved up by eight.

After the lead hit double digits in the third Dylan Kilgour tossed in nine points in the fourth period and the Falcons went up by 20 at one point. As Kilgour did the damage from the perimeter, Misi continued to control the paint down low.

Misi led all scorers with 21, and Kilgour finished with 14. Kelly pitched in 13 and Rudy Avila, another big body for CV, added 10.

Jordan Hill scored seven points for Temple City in the fourth quarter and led the team with 13. Ryan Cosato had 10 and Halversen finished with nine, all in the first quarter.

The Rams opened the Tournament with a win over Franklin but have lost their last two to Montebello and Crescenta Valley. CV will play for fifth place on Thursday.
