[El Monte] – Mountain View opened league in wrestling and was tossed up by Rosemead 65-13 at Mountain View High School Thursday afternoon. 

Results:

160lbs match: Anthony Escarcega (Mead) def. Ignacio Castaneda (MV) by pin in 1st period. 

171lbs match: Justin Godinez (Mead) def. Rafa Del Real (MV) by pin in the 1st period. 

189lbs: Tim Henderson (MV) was defeated by Eddie Solario (Mead) in what was the match of the day. With the score tied up at 4-4 after two periods, Solorio was able to pin Henderson late in the final period. 

215lbs: George Lopez (Mead) def. Daniel Gonzalez (MV) by pin in 1st period. 

103lbs: Devin Ng (Mead) def. Deysi Alvarado (MV) by pin in the 2nd period. 

112lbs: Jesse Macias (Mead) def. Angel Magana (MV) by tech in 2nd period. 

119lbs: Eduardo Yebras (MV) def. Sergio Flores (Mead) by points (9-0). 

125lbs: Calvin Tsang (Mead) def. Danny Chavez (MV) bout ended in 2nd period due to injury. 

130lbs: Matt Fregoso (Mead) defeated Edmundo Perez (MV) in what was a harder match than anticipated. Perez had a nice slam but it wasn’t enough as Fregoso got the pin late in the 2nd period. 

135lbs: Milton Ramirez (MV) def. Viet Nguyen (Mead) by points (4-0). 

140lbs: Ryan Maldonado (Mead) def. Alvaro Najera (MV) by pin in 1st period. 

145lbs: Berto Flores (Mead) was too much for James Tran (MV) dominating the bout for over two minutes until getting the pin in the 2nd period. 

152lbs: Freshman Alfredo Martinez (MV) gave it all he had and had his moments but Milton Avila (Mead) had too much and pinned Martinez late in the 1st period.
