– NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal has called out 7’2″ MMA fighter Hong Man Choi, the fighter that KO’d Jose Canseco. Shaq has been training MMA for a couple years now.

 

– UFC has announced a number of bouts for UFC 102 Aug 29 – Randy Couture vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Keith Jardine vs. Thiago Silva, Damian Maia vs. Nate Marquardt, Matt Hammill vs. Bandon Vera. Also on the card will be Chris Leben coming off his 6 month suspension, James Irvin, Junior Dos Santos, Mark Munoz, and Gabriel Gonzaga.

 

– After only one fight back in the UFC Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic has signed with Japan based Dream.

 

– After a 10 second knockout loss to Ray Mercer, Tim Sylvia has been pulled from his Affliction “Trilogy” bout with Paul Buentello.

 

– Todd Duffee vs. Mike Russow heavyweight bout is in the works for UFC 102.

 

– Jesse Gibbs vs. Rob Broughton has been added to Afflction “Trilogy”.

 

– The most anticipated women’s bout in MMA history will be Aug 19 at Strikeforce, when Gina Carano faces Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos for the first ever Women’s World Title. The bout will be five, five minute rounds and they will meet at 145 pounds.
