Good Morning!

T-minus-13 until Manny Ramirez returns to Dodgers lineup

My day was ruined when the first round of the 109th U.S. Open was suspended because of rain…I’d sooner spend an evening with an Amway salesman…

If the Olympic League is going to stay in the Mid-Valley division can we at least get Maranatha and La Salle in and boot Paraclete, along with L.A. Baptist, out? How about making room for Bosco Tech?

It may be a little early for West El Monte Poly, but perhaps down the road.

Call me crazy but I felt more when Mitch Jones got his first career hit last night than I did seeing the Lakers win the title…I also loved the way Jones tried to be oh so cool through it all…

It reminded me of the first time I covered a game at the Coliseum. I was very professional, worked on my story, accepted my stats, casually ate the grub…and when I was done in the locker room I walked out to the 50-yard line and called Peterson on my cell phone: “Dude! Do you know where I am?”

Funny because when Peterson calls and says: “Dude! Do you know where I am?” He usually wants to me to stop off at the bail bond office…

I guess all talk about a Ryan Leaf comeback is over…

Does it make me a snob to think I’m smarter than all of those people who went downtown, in all that traffic, to go to the Laker celebration?

It’s well known I am the anti-Favre, but seeing him workout at the local high school with its players is gold…wouldn’t it be cool if every NFL quarterback took some time and went to throw at a high school workout? The memories it would create would be awesome…

Can somebody tell me how old John Smoltz is? Wasn’t he involved in the Black Sox scandal back in 1919?

A nice edition to the El Monte football schedule this season is Rowland.

Note to Joel Sanchez: Raider quarterback Michael Ball is very good.

Other fresh match ups to keep an eye on: San Dimas at M-Town, Temple City at Arcadia, and Blair at Brawley…

My guess is after being sentenced to 45 years for molestation former slugger Mel Hall won’t be attending any old timer games this summer.

Stay thirsty my friends…
