Bob Burt Front-Runner at Wilson

(Hacienda Heights) – Bob Burt, who last coached at Riverside Notre Dame before stepping down last December, is the front-runner to take over as the Head Coach at Wilson sources say.

Burt compiled a record of 21-12 in three seasons at Notre Dame and has a record of 139-78-3 on the high school level. Burt, 69, has an extensive coaching career that includes stints at St. Paul and Lake Elsinore Temescal Canyon High Schools and was also the Head Coach at Cal State Northridge from 1986 to 1994. He had a brief stop at UCLA as an assistant.

Burt’s overall record stands at 197-33-5.

Burt has coached for 44 seasons which he estimated was about 30,000 practices after he resigned from Notre Dame.

Burt, who retired as an administrator and teacher, will not be teaching at Wilson. The Job is being offered as a coaching position only.

The Wildcats have been seeking a Head Coach since Brian Zavala stepped down in January after two seasons.
