Part of the reason baseball doesn’t work for me anymore is because of the internet. Funny, but the thing that provides tons of information is also the thing that turns me off most when it comes to baseball.
I can remember reading and pouring over the box scores in the daily hard copy of the newspapers. The Sunday edition was great because it listed all the batting stats from top to bottom; from someone flirting with .400 to the undead living below the Mendoza Line.
The effort and investment of time was what drew me…now I get it all a few points and clicks.

Last Add Baseball: Nothing you can do about it now, but player movement kills attachment to a team. The 1981 title for the Dodgers was sweet because you knew a key part of the squad had suffered through three previous World Series failures. The 1985 Kansas City Royals was good to see because they had been knocking on the door consistently since 1976 with a core group of guys.

Really Last Add Baseball: The internet works for the nerds who have taken control of the game. Only a stat freak (Blue State) could tell you a guy who hit .305 with 21 homers and 86 Rbis did not have a very good year because his OBP, KGB, PMS, OBGYN wasn’t whipped enough…
