Joe Torosian

Good Morning!

Going to church has blessed me with a lot of things in life…Large and small…you may have an idea of the large but can I give you a little insight into the small?

By the simple fact of being in church, eating lunch with my family, and then taking a nap upon arriving home, I avoided every moment, every second, and every stroke of the Masters Golf Tournament…

Yes, that does merit a ‘Praise the Lord’…

***

Congrats to Arcadia’s Ammar Moussa on winning the 3200 on Saturday…

***

Glad to find there was plenty of room waiting for me on the New York Knicks bandwagon…Happy to be back.

***

For what its worth Cathedral quarterback Hayden Rettig, brother of Boston College quarterback Chase Rettig, looked good throwing the ball at the San Gabriel Toss on Saturday…Receivers just need to do a better job of holding onto the ball.

***

Donald Bernard will return as the defensive coordinator at San Gabriel. While former Temple City and San Gabriel assistant Rob Brown has moved on to join Randy Horton’s staff at Pasadena.

***

Kevin Durant…Yeah, that dude’s alright…

***

Did the Lakers peek too soon?

***

“Dave Goltz Has Risen From The Grave”…otherwise known as Chad Billingsley taken the hill for the Dodgers…

Why did they sign him? Couldn’t they have dealt him for a catcher or a first baseman with some pop?

***

Have to admit it; Dodger games in San Diego are boring…Too many Enzo Hernandez memories…

***

Do you ever get the feeling the Dodgers made a mistake in keeping Eric Karros and letting Paul Konerko get away all those years ago?

***

No news from our inside guy at Glendora…Hopefully soon…

***

Oh Manny, no…Manny Ramirez can’t retire…All of the performance enhancing drug distributors are going to be in need of a federal bailout…

Last Add Manny: If he gets voted in the Hall of Fame will he have to serve a 100 game suspension before they unveil is plaque?

Really Last Add Manny: I think it came down to not wanting to be in a Tampa Bay uniform.

***

Doing some rethinking about Burbank this fall…My initial thoughts were they’re cooked, but Hector Valencia played a lot of young guys last year and has some real talent returning…

Granted as right now there is no Adam Colman or Robert Linda getting ready to don the blue and white…but Quortney Brazier is back…

Thought our friends in Arcadia would like to know that…

***

Last Add Burbank: The bigger question for the Bulldogs is are they over their dramatic 38-35 loss to Burroughs last November…You may recall they led the Indians 28-0 before they got Yanezized in front of 10,000…

***

I’ve had a lot of fun with Steve Lavin over the years, but I pray the best for him now…I didn’t drink the St. John’s kool aid, ala some of our staff, but it was good to see the Red Storm (Redmen) back in the fray…

Stay thirsty my friends…
