High School Softball Top 25

Crazy week as many of the top teams playing in key league games that could give the winner a huge edge heading into the final weeks of the season.

  1. Bonita (16-2) – Michele Whit comes up big against West Covina and Rowland in wins.
  2. La Canada (12-3) – O’Leary-Horner battery might best in area.
  3. Bishop Amat (17-2) – Sweep St. Josephs in battle of first in Del Rey.
  4. Crescenta Valley (12-3) – Falcons getting ready for showdown with Burroughs.
  5. South Hills (11-5) – Week off might will have them refreshed for stretch run.
  6. Glendora (10-6) – Tartans are in the middle of four team Baseline League title race.
  7. La Serna (12-6) – Undefeated in Del Rio League play.
  8. Whittier Christian (11-5) – Upset by Valley Christian after big wins over Maranatha and Village Christian.
  9. San Dimas (10-5) – Janelle Wheaton has caught 12 of 13 base runners.

10.  La Mirada (12-5) – Monsoons make first appearance in top 25 for 2011.

11.  Duarte (14-1) – Not many believe that Falcons are this good.

12.  Burroughs (11-6) – Went 2-1 in Birmingham Classic.

13.  Northview (11-7-1) – Sarina Jaramillo batting .516 for Vikings.

14.  Montebello (11-3) – Bounced back from loss to Alhambra to win three-straight.

15.  West Covina (12-6) – Had shot against Bonita but couldn’t hold lead.

16.  Charter Oak (9-8) – Can play spoiler after rough stretch of losses.

17.  Cerritos (9-3) – Had chance to get top spot in Suburban only to drop first of two to La Mirada.

19.  Valley Christian (10-9) – Crusaders upset of Whittier Christian allows three-team race for Olympic League title.

20.  Monrovia (10-7-1) – Ladycats in three-way fight for two playoff spots.

21.  Village Christian (7-10) – Finding out that life in Olympic is tougher this season.

22.  Arroyo (8-6) – Get upset by South El Monte to make MVL a horserace.

23.  Flintridge Prep (6-2) – Prep League theirs to lose.

24.  San Marino (8-5) – Lack of consistency in hitting department hurting Titans.

25. Rio Hondo Prep (9-4) – Joe Parker has the Kares competing in Prep League.
