Good Afternoon!
Does La Puente get to keep its head coach?…So good for Glendora, great for the Warriors…

First Add Arroyo Playoff Wins: Yes, the Knights are 0-3 in the playoffs under Rivera. In 2008, a team that would finish 3-8, lost in the first round to Temple City 7-6 because an extra-point was missed…That TC team ended up in the semifinals.
In 2009 they were a much better team, but they played a third place team from the Olympic called Whittier Christian. They lost…That Heralds team ended up in the semifinals and might have beaten Monrovia in that game if not for DeShawn Ramirez.
In 2010 they got San Dimas in the first round…defending CIF champs…and if not for a few inches (perhaps six) the touchdown they scored on the last play would have sent the game into overtime…That Saints team ended up in the semifinals.
Cut Arroyo some slack…and I say this freely. I have not received food or gear from the Knights program in almost a year…and I’ve spent the last four months in His Arroyo Baldness’s dog house…
Lastly…they’ve entered the playoffs in both 2009 and 2010 as league champions and drew Whittier Christian and San Dimas in the first round.

Note to Joe T.: “Yes I was in Chicago instead of at the Arroyo Golf Tournament. We had to change date of the tournament three times to avoid conflicts with other tournaments. I gave my wife tickets to the Dodger-Cubs game for her birthday. I thought a good husband should accompany her. What would you have done? Gone to the golf tournament or take your wife to Chicago for her birthday. I like being married… I chose Chicago.”— Doug Stevens

Best wishes to the ScanWife…

The Carolina Panthers should make the safe pick…that means anyone other than Cam Newton…
If the St. Louis Rams forgo drafting a talented wide receiver to draft someone like Corey Liuget (Illinois) at defensive tackle…I believe I could live with that…
***
I’ve never really been much of a Chicago Blackhawks fan.
***
Obligatory Whittier Christian Love: Cody Bronkar…Great year in 2010…Ready to break out in 2011…
***
First Add Monrovia: I am very interested in seeing Michael Harris run the ball this fall.
***
This is our 12th year doing football full time, and a third of that time has been spent covering Arroyo’s Steven Rivera…I’ve got more pictures of the Arroyo quarterback on my computer than I do of my oldest daughter.
***
The Billy Livingston highlight tape finally arrived…Nice work Sunshine.

Note to ObservantCat: It’s not that I doubt Monrovia; I just think the pressure is going to be on big time and a lot of new guys are going to have to step up. In regards to G5, I’m pro G5…I just don’t want to see him get chewed up.
We don’t publish up to at least a third of what we get in regards to comments and for everything that seems like a positive (kid going to college) there are five negative posts coming in…And everyone is going to start chiming in if things aren’t just so for the defending champs.
You’ve been around M-Town football for a long time, you’ve seen what can happen. I saw Steve Garrison take the Wildcats to three straight finals, playoff appearances in 2000 and 2001, and a Rio Hondo League title in 2002…Yet by 2003 I heard people in the M-Town stands screaming for his head. It was like they forgot everything that happened in between Richard Watson and Garrison’s hiring.
Now you guys have a title…heaven help you if you stumble or throw a pick early on.

Okay, maybe I’ll wait for Andre Ethier to take his cuts before I leave the room.
***
I’ll make the argument that Draft Day in the NFL is actually a better show than the Super Bowl…I absolutely adore it…

Stay thirsty my friends…
