(Cerritos) – Class of 2011 quarterbacks Evan Hunko of Mayfair, Shane Blood from La Mirada and La Serna’s Andrew Buenrostro have all landed at Cerritos College.
Cerritos also has two third year players in Brandon Decker (North Torrance) and Morgan Fennell (Long Beach Poly) returning at the QB spot and will share time under center. In addition they have Paul Lopez- a transfer with a year of eligibility left, freshman Brandon Gaeta (St. John Bosco) and Beau Salazar (Kennedy) who will be redshirting.
Hunko, who could have saw some playing time behind Decker and Fennell, decided to greyshirt and spend this year on strength building. This will allow him to work out with the team but not play. Greyshirting preserves his redshirt year as a selling point should any FBS or FCS program coaches be interested come spring. Buenrostro might do the same or decide to redshirt.
