1. Quarterback Haynes King scored on a five-yard run as time ran out to lift the Carolina Panthers to a 33-30 win over the Arizona Cardinals Thursday night in the NFL Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio.

2. The Detroit Lions signed running back Jahmyr Gibbs to a three-year, $67.5 million extension which makes him the highest paid running back in NFL history.

3. The Indianapolis Colts signed running back Jonathan Taylor to a two-year, $44 million extension.

4. Longtime San Francisco Giants announcer Mike Krukow,74, said he will retire after this season. Krukow, who was an All-Star for the Giants in 1986 when he won a career high 20 games, was in the broadcast booth for nearly four decades.

5. The Dodgers, with a six-game losing streak, haven’t won a game in August.

6. USC center Kilian O’Connor is out for the season after suffering a non-contact leg injury head coach Lincoln Riley announced Thursday.
