Arroyo's Chris Rodriguez auditioning for "Dancing with the Stars"

Arroyo's Chris Rodriguez auditioning for "Dancing with the Stars"

By Joe Torosian

Good Morning!

T-minus-67 until “The Mid Valley Classic”

With interest in Grant Hill, the signing of Rasheed Wallace, dependency on Kevin Garnett by the Boston Celtics, and Shaq going to Cleveland this off season…Wouldn’t a great title for the NBA Eastern Conference be the “The March of the Geriatrics”?

Did I miss something somewhere, but no one seems to be talking about West Covina running back Ricky Johnson, who really shined late last season for the Bulldogs…He’s back along with some pretty good talent at the WC…

Do I care about baseball’s All Star game?…No…Money ruined this event a long time ago…and unlike Scanlan I’ve never gotten over the game that was allowed to end in a tie 2002… Actually the 7-7 finish at Miller Field frags me more than any use of steroids…In fact I still feel I need an apology…

I have always been a respecter of James Loney’s awesome power…Can somebody recharge Orlando Hudson though, perhaps plug him into the wall over night?

Vlad Guerrero cuts the dreads and he turns into Roy Hobbs…

Two names you can expect to stand out in this year’s Mid Valley Classic: Arroyo’s Chris Rodriguez, Temple City linebacker Tim Sanderson…

I was rooting for Andy Roddick yesterday…And I saw every second of the highlights…

Last Wimbledon final I saw from first serve to last serve…29 years to the day, July 5, 1980, Bjorn Borg beat John McEnroe in the celebrated five set, 18-16 Overture, match…I was house sitting in Hacienda Heights with my brother…

I go to the movies two, maybe three, times a year, but is it standard practice for people now to bring newborns into theater at 10 o’clock in the evening like I saw last night?…Plus I wasn’t exactly watching “Up”…

I understand the guy’s a future Hall of Famer, for whatever that’s worth in the NBA, but Jason Kidd has 14-years of wear on his tires and the Dallas Mavericks are going to give him 25-million over the next three years…Who owns this team Mark Cuban?

Charitable work or not, I’m not too hip on calling a married man with four children a warrior and hero when he’s shot to death with a strange woman…Most likely a murder-suicide, nothing confirmed as of yet; but one thing is certain…Steve McNair went out like a chump not a hero…

Stay thirsty my friends…
