Barometer week for some schools heading into this week with Arcadia facing St. Francis and La Serna battling Downey. Not many surprises in the Southeast Division.

  1. Arcadia (0-0) – Apaches get huge test out of the gate with St. Francis coming to visit.
  2. West Covina (0-0) – Jimmy Frazier and Chris Caballero were instrumental in win over Covina.
  3. Mayfair (1-0) – Jerry Smith’s four touchdowns helped the Monsoons get past Downey.
  4. Santa Fe (0-1) – Won’t knock loss to Hamilton.
  5. Bonita (1-0) – Second consecutive “Smudgepot” victory gives young Bearcats confidence.
  6. La Serna (1-0) – Good win to start season for Lancers.
  7. Burroughs (0-1) – Zander Anding just catapulted himself into “the best running back” in the Southeast talk.
  8. Muir (1-0) – Mustangs have all the talent to compete for a championship.
  9. Diamond Ranch (0-1) – Need to play mistake-free football.
  10. La Mirada (0-1) – Swordsmen proved too much for Matadores.
  11. Diamond Bar (0-1) – Dug early hole and couldn’t recover.
  12. Burbank (1-0) – Impressive defensive display in opener.
  13. Crescenta Valley (0-0) – Begin season against Santa Paula.
  14. Rowland (1-0) – Terry Ford led the Raiders to opening game win.
  15. Pasadena (0-1) – That was a tough opener for Bulldogs.
  16. Los Altos (1-0) – Notch first win since winning “The Wheel” in 2009.
  17. Walnut (0-1) – Tough start to season with loss to Don Lugo.
  18. Bellflower (1-0) – Bucs get by Pacifica in opener.
  19. El Rancho (0-1) – Not the way the Dons envisioned the season to start.
  20. Norwalk (0-1) – Momma said, “there would be games like that.”
